This really depends on what it is you are looking to achieve. As a rule of thumb, the longer the issue has been around and the more widely it is impacting on your life, the longer we can expect to work together. Some people may only require around 10 sessions while others keep benefitting from therapy after a year or more. To find out more specifics for your unique situation, book a FREE introductory call and we can talk it through.
We offer appointments at the following times:
- Monday to Friday between 9am and 4:30pm
Sessions last for 50 minutes for one-to-one therapy and 60 minutes for couples or family sessions.
Attending therapy might feel a bit anxiety-provoking at first, but we will always try to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Our first session usually involves hearing more about you and your life story from the very beginning, as this is crucial for us to understand how you have come to be where you are now. We will go at your pace and ensure you feel heard and respected. During this session, we will also discuss your current challenges and goals for therapy.
We aim to create a safe space where you can openly share your thoughts and feelings. By the end of the session, we will have a clearer picture of your situation and can outline a plan for how we can work together to address your needs and help you move forward.
Therapy with us is warm, compassionate, and understanding. We always aim to offer a supportive environment where you feel safe to express yourself without judgment. Our approach is to meet you where you are and work collaboratively to address your specific needs.
In our sessions, you can expect to receive practical tools and strategies tailored to your situation for you to then work on outside of appointments. We will focus on building essential skills such as self-compassion, nervous system soothing, mindfulness, and self awareness, helping you to navigate life’s difficulties with greater confidence and resilience.
To get a better feel for what therapy with us is like, have a look at the testimonials provided by people we have worked with. You can also arrange a FREE introductory call with us to see if we would be a good fit for you. This will give you an opportunity to ask any questions and get a sense of who we are.
Make sure that you’re in a quiet place where you won’t worry about being disturbed or overheard. You will also need a good quality internet connection – a normal home Wifi broadband is usually fine. Where possible we would recommend that you use a computer or tablet rather than a smaller-screened phone, but mobiles can also be used if needed.
- For those funding the sessions themselves, payment is required in full on the day of each appointment by bank transfer.
- Written reports, letters, and additional telephone calls longer than 15 minutes will incur a separate charge.
- Full terms and conditions available upon request and upon booking.
- Appointments cancelled with more than 48 working hours’ notice can be cancelled free of charge.
- If you cancel your appointment with less than 48 working hours’ notice you will still need to pay for the session as I am unlikely to be able to offer the space to others at such short notice.
- Most insurers will not cover the cost of sessions cancelled at short notice. In these cases you would be required to cover the cost of the session.
